Some apps allow the BlueBoard to connect directly using Bluetooth LE MIDI. For example:
https://forscore.co/kb/irig-blueboard/
https://onsongapp.com/docs/features/foot-pedals/supported/irig/blueboard/
Would be great if Dream Foot could connect directly to Bluetooth LE MIDI devices. This would benefit not only BlueBoard users. Saves the need for extra apps, and - in the case of the BlueBoard - would allow us to use the switches as momentary instead of latching. As of now the only way to do this (unless I'm mistaken) is using another app like midimittr. Hope to see this in an update!
Okay so after playing with this a bit more I was able to connect the BlueBoard to Dream Foot without a third app, with the BlueBoard in Bluetooth Mode 2 (sends CC). With the "MIDI INPUT BEHAVIOR" set to "Latch" I can play the notes when pressing the mapped button, and the note will stop when I release the button. The issue is that if I map the other controls, for example the far left button to go to the next song, it advances songs when I press down, and then another song when I release. Any thoughts? Would like to use without "SUSTAIN" on since there is no stop button as of now.
Hey Kevin, I hope you are doing well.
Love your ideas, thank you for contributing to expanding our app.
Currently, we are in the process of implementing Bluetooth LE for our next update to make it easier for new Bluetooth controllers to connect to the App.
Since the app was heavily designed to rely on the sustain button, several things happen when sustain its on under the hood of the app. I would love to help you achieve the functionality that you are looking for, but I would need to see a video of how you are currently using it and what you would like to achieve to show our developers.
Do you think that would be possible?
If so, send me an email at info@dreamfootexperience.com
Thanks for the reply, that's great news. I can definitely take a quick video and send to you within the next week, probably this coming weekend. Afterwards if you or the developers think it might be useful, I'm happy to have a quick Skype call to explain in more detail. Keep an eye on your inbox for the video!
@Filipe Michael (CEO) Email sent with videos explaining. I guess if each MIDI mapping could be set to latch or momentary, this problem would be solved. Not sure how complicated that might be to implement though!
Hello. I definitely agree on the requirement. Would be very nice to get this enhancement. Looking forward an update in the appstore !
